Grandie’s Banana Bread

If there is one staple from my childhood at the beach – Its Banana Bread.  This is best served with about 1/8″ thick spread of butter and cut into small strips or halves. Banana Bread was always an amazing treat. My Grandmother (Grandie) would make it usually in the fall and it was amazing fresh out of the oven. She would often pair it along side of a bowl of soup on cool windy day at the shore. Yum!

Banana Bread

Recipe type: Breakfast
Serves: 1 Loaf
  • 1½ Cups Sugar
  • ½ Cup Melted Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 4 Tsp Sour Milk
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Cup Mashed Bananas
  • Handful of Chopped Walnuts
  1. Mix all ingredients in the above order together.
  2. Pour Mixture into greased loaf pan
  3. Bake at 350 Degrees about 40 Minutes
