It didnt matter that our family isnt Italian. We can cook and we love it! One thing my grandmother did well was pasta sauce and meatballs! There is nothing more enjoyable than surfing till about 930pm at the peak of summer and walking up to the beach house to enjoy this simple, but amazing spaghetti and meatballs meal. This meatball recipe is packed with just enough spice and flavor. The spices were always freshly picked from our garden out back and the tomato sauce was of course made from Jersey Tomatoes! Im sorry my mouth is watering now….Ill be right back! 

Italian Meatballs

Serves: 6 People
  • 2 Slices Bread
  • ½ Cup Water
  • 1lb Ground Beef
  • ¼ Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tbs Snipped Parsley
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • ¼Tsp Dried Oregano, Crushed
  • Dash of Pepper
  • 2 Tsp Salad Oil
  1. Soak bread in water 2 or 3 minutes.
  2. Add Slightly beaten egg and mix well.
  3. Combine with ground beef, parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, oregano and pepper
  4. With wet hands form into small balls (about 24)
  5. Brown slowly in hot salad oil.
  6. Add meatballs to spaghetti sauce and cook for 30 minutes
